As Head of Transactions, Business Development at AstraZeneca, Gayatri oversees transactional activity for Oncology R&D. During her time at AstraZeneca, Gayatri has led and negotiated many transactions including the acquisition of Neogene Therapeutics, Gracell Biotechnologies and in-licensing of several oncology pre-clinical, clinical-stage assets, and in-licensing the monoclonal antibody (AZD7442) against COVID-19. Previously, she held positions as Director of Partnerships & Collaborations at MedImmune, and Executive Director, University of Maryland, heading the technology transfer office overseeing end to end activities related to entrepreneurship and licensing activities.
Gayatri has a Ph.D in Molecular & Cellular Biology and is a registered patent agent. She was formerly on the Board of AUTM and continues to serve on their Valuation Committee. She is currently chair of the Licensing Executive Society’s Life Sciences Sector Leadership committee.
Gayatri is very engaged in the local life sciences community and has led ecosystem building in the Gaithersburg, Maryland region.
