Tom is a partner at Powell Gilbert, one of the UK’s leading patent litigation law firms. He has a particular focus on high-stakes multi-jurisdictional patent disputes. He is currently co-chair of the LES Dispute Resolution Committee.
Tom regularly represents clients in disputes covering a wide range of industry sectors and technologies, including in engineering, telecoms and electronics.
Tom has extensive experience in devising multi-jurisdictional patent litigation strategies for clients and often takes the role of lead European counsel, with responsibility for co-ordinating multi-jurisdictional legal teams. He has co-ordinated global patent disputes in more than 30 jurisdictions.
He has acted in a number of the FRAND matters, including in Unwired Planet v Huawei.
He is a frequent speaker at international IP conferences and teaches patent litigation as part of Oxford University’s post-graduate diploma in intellectual property.
