Assistant General Counsel, Novo Nordisk

Jimmy Zhuang is the Assistant General Counsel for Global Business Development at Novo Nordisk. For Novo Nordisk, Jimmy leads the company’s high-profile complex transactions for partnering and fostering external innovation, in particular research and development collaborations and IP licenses. Previously, Jimmy served as the pre-IPO lead corporate counsel at Ginkgo Bioworks, overseeing all of its business development, commercial, and operational transactions, in particular IP in- & out-licenses, leading to the largest-ever biotech IPO. Jimmy was also previously an associate attorney at Ropes & Gray focusing on IP licensing and M&A for the life sciences industry, as well as a judicial clerk to the Honorable Timothy Dyk of the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Jimmy received his J.D. from Yale Law School and his Ph.D. in biochemistry from Harvard University.
