Although G&S has no patent prosecution group, Karin has a robust intellectual property transactions practice. She has worked with local, regional, and global clients, both for-profit and non-profit, including academic medical centers, universities, and research institutions. A large part of Karin’s practice is to structure, de-tangle, and negotiate complex relationships, including resolving contract disputes. Karin’s practice is technology agnostic, practicing across multiple fields and industries, including software, chemistry, medical devices, and life sciences. In addition to her significant private practice experience, Karin has more than a decade of experience serving as in-house counsel at MIT’s Technology Licensing Office, where she worked on transactions to commercialize MIT’s intellectual assets across all of its research fields. In short, Karin describes her practice as assisting clients to earn revenue, as opposed to raising revenue.
