U.S. Chief Intellectual Property Counsel, Huawei

Steven is U.S. Chief Intellectual Property Counsel for Huawei.  Based in Dallas, he leads a team responsible for patent licensing, prosecution, litigation, and transactions.  Steven practiced for 15 years at international law firms, handling patent litigation in venues such as the Eastern District of Texas, District of Delaware, and International Trade Commission.  He received recognition in Chambers USA and Best Lawyers in America.  He has appeared on Bloomberg TV and been quoted in IAM, IPWatchdog, Corporate Counsel, and Managing IP.  Steven has appeared as counsel of record in more than 160 patent lawsuits and managed more than 75 cases for Huawei, including FRAND patent-licensing disputes and trade-secret matters.  Steven has been involved in numerous 8- and 9-figure licensing deals.  A native of Snyder, Oklahoma, Steven is a graduate of Baylor University and the University of Virginia School of Law.  He is a member of the Sedona Conference Working Group 9 on Patent Damages & Remedies and lectures on the use of data analytics in litigation management at Baylor Law School.
